YIN CLASSES ON TUESDAY NIGHTS @ 7:30 PM WITH BARBARA HAVE STARTED! THERE ARE A COUPLE OF OPEN DROP-IN SPOTS AVAILABLE EACH WEEK.

You can register for these classes by sending us an email letting us know you want to use 4 of your existing credits, or by emailing $63 (includes GST) to firstname.lastname@example.org and including if for HATHA or YIN class in the message. We will email you when received to confirm. These classes are not a part of our regular schedule and are a small bite-sized commitment to see if you enjoy practicing yoga - we are a great space to give it a try!
We love Hatha and Yin Yoga as tools to complement our spin practice, and they are two very different practices. Here's what you can expect from each of these styles:
HATHA YOGA is a little work. Provides stillness for the mind, practice with balance, muscular strength and muscular flexibility challenges. It is you on your mat, working with your breath. You start and end in a Savasana (corpse pose) - the first is for set up and alignment the last one is for letting go. You will move from supine to kneeling to standing to seated to twists and the final Savasana pose. Wear your athletic gear as we tend to build a bit of heat as we focus on muscles, alignment and breath work. We work to find the right alignment in Hatha Yoga poses to ensure safety and bodily integrity. This is a great class that will help you be more resilient on and off your mat. A great time for some mind + body connection. This class will be offered during the day from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM on Wednesdays starting May 17th, for 4 consecutive Wednesdays.
YIN YOGA is the perfect antidote to a chaotic day. Come to our quiet, peaceful space. We move a lot slower in Yin Yoga, and we do not build any heat. You may even notice your body temperature will drop during a Yin Yoga class. Make sure to dress comfy and warm, or have a layer to put on. Think loose hair, loose clothing (no tight sports bras), nothing metal surrounding the body. We work with bolsters, blocks and blankets to ensure maximum comfort and support as the yin poses at the studio are typically held between 3 - 5 minutes (sometimes up to 10 minutes). The goal is to bring the number of thoughts down by slowly slipping in to your body, finding stillness in the mind and holding an edge of tension for an extended period of time, just tuning in to all the body's sensations. The breath is meant to be smooth and we are to let it settle in to any joints and tension like a thick fog. Eat lightly before class, or a couple hours before class. Yin is the darkness, the heavy, the cold, the slow, the joints and connective tissues. We will move through poses, primarily on the floor, then to breath work, meditation and Savasana. This class will be offered on Tuesday nights from 7:30 - 8:30/8:45 pm based on pacing, always leaving a good amount of time. You will leave feeling super relaxed before sleep. Plan to get home and move to bed sooner than later.

We provide well-designed SPIN, YOGA and BARRE classes from a variety of experienced instructors to assist you with your fitness + decompression needs!
We have a great community of open-minded people who like to work hard and challenge ourselves, all in humour and good times! We are friendly and look forward to welcoming you to our studio and community!
Bad head space or challenged to resolve a problem? Have a project you need a break from? A change in scenery and a little sweat is all you need to work it out. We work harder and stay focused longer in group settings, too - so come say hi to some friends and get a good sweat/pulse/stretch on!
Being present in your breath, mindful with your body and pushing your heart a little harder for a dose of self-generated endorphins are sure-fire ways to find a positive path forward with a refreshed perspective. We are here for stress-release, and for the development of your cardiovascular capacity, which results in the ability to physically handle more in a day, with greater ease.
We support each other in our daily pursuits of our personal health and well-being.

We are a bright, beautiful upper studio located in the heart of downtown Nanaimo.
We are grateful to be conducting our business operations on the traditional (unceded) territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.
Our space is 1100 square feet and we have 16 spots available for spin classes and 14 spots available for yoga and barre classes.
We are here to make your workouts fun, and to facilitate an environment that allows you to connect with others in our community to inspire each other to work a little harder and stay focused a little longer. We just want you to move your body, and challenge yourself a little more with each class - and we recommend a combination of activities for optimal health.
